Digipak and Webpage
For my audience feedback on both of my ancillary texts, I created a small questionnaire on Microsoft Word to hand out to other sixth form students. This was good as I was able to hand out the questionnaires to people and see how many people actually took my questionnaire. However, I wouldn’t have got a broad range of results as it’s from people in a particular area who could have the same views, whereas having an online questionnaire would allow me to gather a variety of results from people overseas as well as in this country. Another way I gathered feedback from my audience was from interviewing Joe from my class which was filmed on a steady handy cam. The footage of the interview was then uploaded to youtube and then posted onto my blog. This was good as I was able to gather a good response from a one to one with Joe. However, interviewing people takes up to much time, you might not get a broad range of results and plus they might not be the answers that you are looking. After analysing both sets of results collected from both ancillary texts, it is clear that people like and dislike the same things about my pieces of coursework.
Music Video
For my audience feedback on my music video, I used different ways in gathering the information. One of the ways was by using survey monkey in order to produce a set of questions, so I would get the specific answers in which I was looking for. Using survey monkey is a good way of gathering audience feedback because its an online survey and can be accessed all over the world by many different people. Another advantage is that it puts the information into charts and graphs for you when all the responses have been collected. However, there are some problems that occur from using survey monkey. Some people may not be able to open the link to the survey which means they won’t be able to complete the questionnaire. Also, people may enter robust information or may not understand the question that is being asked so again, you might not get the information that you intended to receive. Another way of gathering information was a focus group in the class having a discussion of the music video. This was good as people were able to discuss their views of the video and we were able to find out what people enjoyed, didn’t enjoy, and what they thought needed improving. However, some responses wasn’t very clear as people kept talking over one another.
