First video Idea

Our first video idea was to have a narrative based video. In this video would be a cross cut between two scenes. One would be of a woman on her hen night, and the other of a man on his stag due. We came up with ideas of these two having some kind of argument during the night before their wedding. This could develop the video further and allow us to use more complex shots as well as many close ups to draw the attention to the persons emotions as well as establishing shots to see what kind of atmosphere the people are surrounded by.

Jake Wynne

On the 13/10, Jake Wynne came into the school to talk to our media class in which I took a couple of notes from his speech. I found out that he started off in the media industry as a runner for a company called Rushes. He then done a guns n roses video. Following this he became an editor in 1993/94. During this time he edited the video for a band called Nojahoda, which he had a budget of £8000. According to him, it's become a lot cheaper to create videos nowadays. But this video made him very popular within the industry down to how well he edited the footage and how he used the special effects.

He then went on to become a director in 1997/98. In this time he directed many videos from big name stars. These included 'Let Me Entertain You' by Robbie Williams, as well as "It's Raining Men" by Geri Halliwell. These are major hits and reflects on some good work by Jake.

He gave the class some advice about how to do our music videos.
  • Don't always stick to the lyrics
  • Shoot on full takes (Every performer if there is a performance)
  • Start with performance, any weak spots; wack in a narrative
  • Have to have a shot list; - Most important shots first
  • Wide shots during the day time because of the natural light
  • Close ups in the night time

Introduction to iWeb

I used iweb to create a practise site and I used many of the conventions of a webpage to create the website for the the sixth form consortium. These conventions included a banner, layout, logo, as well as links and text/copy.
I had a menu bar which was linked to all webpages on the website. These included the "events, blog and news" pages.
I included widgets like a video of myself, but I wasn't very clear or couldn't be understood very well because the amount of noise in the room. I also took a photo of myself as well as providing a countdown on the "news" page. I tried adding a youtube video to this wepage too, but the internet wasn't working to well on that day so it didn't go too well.
I think I could have made the layout and the overall look of the webpage a lot better to make it look more professional but it was my first time on iWeb and I have time to perfect this and make my official webpage look fantastic for the audience.

The Courteeners - Cross My Heart and Hope To Fly Lyrics

Uuuuh uuuuh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

How can I create a work of art?
Angled over a dishwasher that just won't start
Domestic bliss are you taking the piss
I need a minute on my own, minute on my own

(Uuuuh uuuuh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh)

So I cross my heart and hope to fly,
and fuck right off into the middle of the sky
Where no one can find me
and no one can see, that would be my ecstasy

Oooooh oooooooh oooooh uuuuh
Oooooh oooooooh oooooh uuuuh

Our clothes are on the floor and so are our hearts
Your necklace and your pearls are your entourage
A picture, a locket, a ring in my pocket

I need a minute on my own, minute on my own.

(Uuuuh uuuuh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh)

So I cross my heart and hope to fly
and fuck right off into the middle of the sky,
Where no one can find me and no one can see
That would be my ecstasy

Oooooh oooooooh oooooh uuuuh
Oooooh oooooooh oooooh uuuuh

So I cross my heart and hope to fly
and fuck right off into the middle of the sky,
Where no one can find me and no one can see,
That would be my ecstasy

(Uuuuh uuuuh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh)

So I cross my heart and hope to fly
and fuck right off into the middle of the sky
Where no one can find me and no one can see,
That would be my ecstasy
(repeat)
